COMMUNITY DOULA

CONNECTION PROGRAM

Are you looking to support families?

The Community Doula Connection Program offers specialized perinatal doula support for vulnerable and/or marginalized families in our communities for whom the cost of doula care would be a barrier. Our wrap around referral model of care focuses on working closely with already existing support services and organizations that interact with this same population. By working together, we create more robust models of care that work cohesively and share resources effectively.

At this time, we are welcoming applications from birth, postpartum and full-spectrum doulas within the Vancouver Island Health Authority

HOW IT WORKS

THE BFF COMMITMENT

Birthing Families Foundation asks our membership to commit to a minimum of 18 months within our programming and to embody the models of care that promote inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, trauma informed, and consensual care for all of the families in our communities. We are committed to providing mentorship, ongoing education and training opportunities in these areas and requires all directors, board members, volunteers and the membership of BFF to take part in these opportunities throughout the year.

Our doulas are provided with honorariums that we continue to strive to be an equitable reflection of the skills and services provided in their communities.  These are provided for birth and postpartum support and includes access to emergency coverage for out of pocket costs associated with supporting marginalized families and other philanthropic doula services.

We look forward to connecting with you!
